What could be more fun than dressing up in a group Halloween costumes with all your friends? Naturally the best way to show off a group Halloween costume would be at a parade or Halloween festival. If you all work in a hospital, wearing scrubs would be an easy idea. Splash them with some red food coloring and tell everyone that you all just got off work. That�s sure to raise a few eyebrows! One of the best Halloweens I have been a part of happened six years ago, when I was still in college. Some friends and I journeyed to a small college town where a friend of ours was attending school. We decided that, since we would not know very many people, nor did any of us want to be separated, we should all dress as the same thing, or at least all dress up around one single theme. Little did I know that as far as group halloween costumes ideas, ours was excellent.

Why are group halloween costumes ideas so good? Well, as I mentioned before, they are great for a group of people that are new, out of town, or worried, for whatever the reason, of being separated or lost. A quick scan of the room will reveal when several people are all wearing the same costume.

I do not want to share that with you now, for the sixth year in a row, a group of us plan on dressing up like it again and I would not want to ruin it for us. One thing about my family growing up was that my parents were never very big Halloween people, nor were their friends. Although they would take us trick-or-treating, they would never dress up for the occasion. I didn’t really understand that adults did such a thing until I was a teenager. When I was that age, I loved to dress up in spooky costumes. I would dress up as villains from slasher film’s, such as Jason, Freddy Krueger, or Leatherface from the Texas chainsaw massacre. I’m sure I terrorize more than my share of little kids but it wasn’t too long until I realized that those scary costumes weren’t that original.

The first time I got into a couples costume was when I was about 17. I was in my first relationship back then, and was hopelessly in love. I guess all kids are in love when they have the first relationship. Anyway, my girlfriend was kind of a cheese ball. She loved anything cutesy and romantic. At Halloween, of course, she insisted on us getting a couples costume. My friends made fun of me, but I persevered anyway. I knew that couples costumes were important to her, and I didn’t want to disappoint her. We went as Tweedledee and Tweedledum that year. Although a few of my friends had to make fun of us, it was clear that they thought the idea was pretty funny.

After that, getting a couples costume was a hit in my crew. Every year, we would go in costumes that complemented each other. Sometimes, we would be in pairs, but more often we would go as whole groups. One of the best couples costume events was when everyone dressed up as their favorite hero or villain duo. We had Batman and Robin, Superman and Wonder Woman, and a foursome dressed as the Fantastic Four. We also had a special appearance by Baron Greenback from Danger Mouse, surrounded by several of his most villainous henchman. All in all, the Party was quite a time, and we all had a lot of fun.

Sometimes, we would make our own couples costume. It was a lot of fun to get involved in the craft aspect of it, even if it was quite a bit of work as well. Other times, they would simply be too complicated. We would buy them or rent them from Halloween stores. Sometimes, the best approach was to combine both. With all of the previous costumes I had worn, I had more than enough supplies to make a new, seemingly fresh costume from spare pieces of previous ones.

Some costumes you find are best left for adults, as they can have a sexy theme to them. At times, you may find these in a smaller size, suggesting that teens or children can wear them, but you should firm when you say no. If you have just one idea, you are going to have a hard time finding the items you want. Children often have the biggest imagination when it comes to coming up with the best Halloween costumes. However, they may also be at an age where they want to do what everyone else they know are going to do. That can be hard when you want them to wear something original. If they want to be the same movie character as everyone else, guide them in a different direction. Ask them if they would like to be a different character from the same movie. At times, this can work. Then you can go about making up a unique version of the costume that they want.

Remember that the best Halloween costumes do not have to be the sexiest ones. Some men and women go the sexy route hoping that will win them a prize as the best costume at a party or event. What matters more is how original and well thought out your costume might be. Some of the best ever made have been ones where you can not tell who is inside because so much of the body is covered. Remember that showing skin may get some attention, but that too has been done to death. Instead, rely on your wit and your sense of humor to come up with your ideas for the best costume ever.
